It's never not funny seeing this Buck and Eddie scene from the 9-1-1 episode Dosed (season 2 episode 6). Because why was it as soon as Buck was all smiley and flirty with TV reporter Taylor Kelly, Eddie just had to interrupt that moment. It's funny because Eddie was working out over at the gym area in the fire station, but the moment Buck was flirty with Taylor, he just had to do something.
I totally didn't buy him asking about her health and then feeling the need to walk over there. Earlier in the episode, the firefighters had rescued Taylor from an emergency but she was fine with no injuries which Eddie knew. Yet, at that moment, Eddie subconsciously had to say something to try to break up the moment. So, he made it seemed as if he was concerned about her health, like yeah right, Eddie. Whether he realized it or not, he was jealous.
Which is why it's so funny, because he felt no need to interrupt when Taylor was talking to Hen, Chimney and Bobby. This reminds me of when Eddie started hanging out with Tommy in the episode Buck, Bothered and Bewildered (season 7 episode 4) and Buck was so jealous. Buck, however also felt the need to interrupt the moment, with an unfortunate result. Buck accidentally (or intentionally) hurt Eddie by pushing him while they were playing basketball. It left Eddie with a sprained ankle. It's still disappointing that the writers didn't show Buck apologizing to Eddie onscreen. Buck was jealous and angry and lashed out at Eddie. Which is why an on screen appology should have been shown. The Showrunner and writers always avoiding showing important moments on screen continues to be one of the issues I have with this show.
Anyway, Eddie and Buck really need to deal with their jealousy issues and finally tell each other how they feel.
Watching this scene of Maddie Buckley, Howard "Chimney" Han, Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz and Evan "Buck" Buckley from the 9-1-1 episode Dosed (season 2 episode 6) never gets old.
As Maddie was moving into a new apartment, she got help from her little brother Buck and his two friends and co-workers: Eddie and Chimney. So, while Buck and Eddie were moving in her furniture, Chimney was helping her set up her new security system. Here's the funny thing, after Eddie and Chimney went to the kitchen for pizza and beers, Maddie with a big smile on her face told Buck "He is so cute".
However, for some reason, Buck thought she was talking about Eddie. Because his response was "Yeah, he gets that a lot. Uh, you should meet his kid, though." And she replies with "Wait, Chimney has a kid?". Like dude, she was not talking about Eddie, just because you think he's cute doesn't mean she does. Especially since Eddie had gone to the kitchen first. And during that time, Maddie she was still talking to Chimney before he joined Eddie in the kitchen.
My question is, did Buck not see the smile on her face while she was talking to Chimney? Or was he too busy looking at Eddie to notice? I just love how Maddie's admission left Buck stunned because he couldn't believe his sister was talking about Chimney and not Eddie. I feel like Maddie has know for a long time that Buck has feelings Eddie and she's just waiting for him to realize it.
I always found it so interesting that in the 9-1-1 episode Under Pressure (season 2 episode 1) Buck was the only team member who made Eddie's first day on the job a negative work experience. Not only was Buck jealous, he decided to be a jerk towards Eddie. During the inflated man emergency, Buck was mad that Eddie "took over" despite their Captain Bobby Nash telling Eddie to take over. What's interesting is that after seeing that Eddie was very competent and knowledgeable, Buck reluctantly said "Yeah. Good Job" to him afterwards.
And despite the reluctant "Good Job", Buck was still holding on to this one-sided rivalry and being a jerk towards Eddie. It wasn't until they worked together to remove a bomb from an older man's leg that they finally became friends. As quickly as they became friends, it's clear to see that if Buck wasn't being a jealous jerk him and Eddie would have immediately become friends as soon as they met. However, it was Buck's actions that delayed their friendship but thankfully it didn't take too long for that to happen. And now that friendship has grown into something really special. Something that is so much more than friendship that I hope will lead to romance.
Buck:Hey, so is your son really the reason you don't date?
Eddie:That, and... they weren't my type.
Buck:Not mine either. Not anymore. But I'm talking in general.
Eddie:It's complicated when you have a kid.
Buck:Come on, that's a weak excuse.
Eddie:You live in your invisible girlfriend's house, and you're telling me about weak excuses.

It's so interesting how they can't walk without bumping into each other. It's as if they're magnetized and can't help being drawn back together. Another thing I find interesting is the conversation, because why when Eddie said "They weren't my type", he was looking at Buck (see second gif). And Buck did the same thing when he said "Not mine either. Not Anymore" (see third gif). Prior to this scene, some rather drunk yet attractive women were flirting with Buck and Eddie and neither of them were interested in the women's attention.
At least Buck had the excuse that he had a girlfriend (who albeit was off on a soul searching travel throughout Europe) while Eddie used his son as a way to avoid the idea of dating. And not to mention that at this point in the story, the writers had not introduced Eddie's estranged wife Shannon. So as far as viewers were concerned, Eddie was a single parent using his son as an excuse not to date.
Okay, back to Eddie and Buck separately looking at one another when they said what they said. Both could have still said it but without looking at one another. Because those looks definitely added subtext to both of them and this conversation.
I wonder why Buck was so set on giving Eddie a nickname in the 9-1-1 episode Under Pressure (season 2 episode 1)? Especially since Eddie already was his nickname. And not to mention Buck had such an attitude about it. I also wonder when did Buck finally learn that Eddie's real name was Edmundo? Since he didn't know in the beginning and thought Eddie was short for Eduardo.
I forgot how small Gavin McHugh was, just look how adorable this behind the scenes picture of Gavin and Ryan Guzman from the 9-1-1 episode 7.1 (season 2 episode 2) is. This is such a cute picture.
I was thinking about the upcoming remainder of the eighth season and it has me hoping that it won't take forever for Eddie and Christopher to sort out the problem that caused the rift between them. And I certainly hope it doesn't take the entire last half of the season for the father and son to fix everything (or at least agree to work on their issues) and move back to Los Angeles. I just really hope the writers will give Eddie and Chris a good story.
I just love this behind the scenes picture from the 9-1-1 episode New Beginnings (season 2 episode 11). It's just so ridiculous. Because why does it look like the (fake) shark is happily taking a picture with Oliver Stark, Peter Krause, Director John J. Gray and Ryan Guzman.
I hadn't plan on taking a 10 day break but I did. And now I'm back to posting. I can't belive it's, five days before Christmas which is why I wanted to post this very interesting scene with Eddie and Buck waiting for Eddie's son Christopher who is waiting in line to see Santa. "Here's an interesting Holiday scene from 9-1-1's season 2 episode Merry Ex-Mas. What's interesting about this scene is that earlier in the episode there was a scene where Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz was in his bedroom with his not so estranged wife Shannon and Eddie had mentioned not knowing what their son Christopher wanted for Christmas. Shannon then asked him "Did you take him [Christopher] to see Santa?". What follows was a fun little moment with Shannon making fun of Eddie being afraid of Santa when he was a kid.
Anyway, what was interesting about this was that Eddie and Shannon had been sleeping together for months but were not really technically back together. However, it seemed like they were sort of on their way to reconciling, but not quite yet. At this point, Shannon still hadn't reconciled with Christopher yet because Eddie was sort of keeping her at arms length because he wasn't sure how to re-introduce Shannon to Chris since she had been gone from their lives for nearly two years. Which is why it's interesting that Eddie didn't invite Shannon to go with him and Chris to see Santa especially since she's the one who mentioned it. Instead Eddie invited Evan "Buck" Buckley who at this point probably only known each other for only a few months (I'm not sure about the show's timeline, so I figured maybe between five to six months).
The scene in the video with Eddie and Buck waiting on Christopher to see Santa is so memorable. Because I think this would have been the perfect moment for Eddie, Chris and Shannon but no the Showrunner and writers decided to put Buck there. They were sitting so close together that it's understandable that Blair the Santa Helper Elf told Buck in that infamous scene that "You two have an adorable son". There was no point including Buck in the Santa scene nor alluding to him and Eddie being parents to Chris. See this is what fans and viewers mean when they talk about how the Showrunners and writers choose to write Buck and Eddie. The writers could have easily had Buck say that him and Eddie were not a couple and Chris was not his son. Especially since the writers had no problem doing just that in the fifth season first episode Panic when Eddie's then girlfriend Dr. Ana Flores was alluded to being Christopher's mother and she said that she wasn't his mother just a friend. So then why have Buck who's supposedly written as just a friend not correct Blair the Santa Helper Elf but have Eddie's girlfriend Ana make a point in saying she's just a friend. Funny enough, that scene with Ana being called Christopher's mother ended up causing Eddie to have a panic attack.
So in not wanting to make this any longer, here's the Eddie, Buck and Christopher scene from the second season 9-1-1 Christmas episode. Happy Holidays everyone!"
Something I wanted to add was, I understand why Shannon wasn't included in this scene because they wanted to have her and Chris reconnect in a big dramatic way. Anyway, I hope that there will be a Christmas or Holiday episode for the ninth season and we get see the Eddie and Buck in a relationship and see them celebrate the holiday with Chris officially as a family.
Buck: I would. I bet we could take the ladder to that fourth floor. Cut the distance in half.

I love this scene when Eddie and Buck were looking up at an extremely damaged high rise hotel. They were trying to figure out the best way to get to a certain floor to rescue two people trapped in one of the rooms. I notice how smart Buck and Eddie are especially on the job, however, at times they can make a few bad choices in their personal lives. I mentioned this before but while 9-1-1 is on hiatus, I'm going to rewatch the show. It's been a while since I've watched the show from the beginning.
Buck:Okay, so every unit is different, but I think I kind of like this one the best.
Maddie:Nice. You should totally rent that apartment.
Buck:M-Me? Wh-Why... why would I?
Maddie:Because I have my own apartment. You sleep in my dining room.
Buck:Y-You don't think it's weird?
Maddie:Yes. That's why you should get your own place.

This is such an unexpectedly funny scene between Maddie and Buck. This quote, from part of their conversation was just funny. Because Buck, yes it is weird that you are sleeping in Maddie's dining room when you could have your own place. I don't know, I just found this to be really funny.
During this scene Buck was trying to talk his big sister Maddie into getting a new apartment. Previously, she had been abducted by Doug her abusive husband who also severely stabbed Howard "Chimney" Han her soon-to-be boyfriend and left him for dead in the apartment courtyard. So, Buck probably figured Maddie would want a different place to live after surviving that ordeal.
Why does this 9-1-1 season 2 behind the scenes picture of Ryan Guzman and Oliver Stark feel like it could be in the Hot Days, Smoldering Nights: Men of the LAFD wall calendar mentioned in the episode Under Pressure (season 2 episode 1). I wish the writers would bring back the wall calendar plot and this time it will be the 118 putting together a calendar for charity.
In last night's 9-1-1 episode Masks (season 8 episode 5) there was this really sad scene of Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz looking at an old picture of him and his son Christopher (pictures posted below). The picture was of their first Halloween after they had moved to Los Angeles. And to add to it was the voiceover of Evan "Buck" Buckley saying how “I can’t imagine anything more painful than going through life alone”. Because at that moment, Eddie was most likely feeling like he truly was alone.
Currently in 9-1-1's eighth season, Eddie and his son Christopher's relationship continues to deteriorate. Eddie is trying to keep communication open by continuing to call his son. However, Chris is still holding on to his anger after seeing Eddie with Kim, who is a look-a-like of Chris' mother and Eddie's late wife Shannon. And since then, he doesn't seem that interested or enthusiastic with talking with his father. It's been shown that Chris will talk to Eddie but their conversations seem to be short and superficial. With all the months Christopher has been gone temporarily living with his grandparents in El Paso nothing seemed to have dimmed his anger towards his dad.

This artwork is fantastic. The artist perfectly captured Eddie and Buck during the scene when the mom Sonia Moss was revived in the 9-1-1 episode Broken (season 2 episode 14). I always found it so adorable when Buck was batting his eyelashes at Eddie during that scene.
Of course Eddie didn't see it, he was mesmerized by seeing the miracle of Sonia being brought back to life. Sonia had went into early labor and had given birth unfortunately on the floor of the lobby of the hotel her and her husband Roger were staying at. After having her baby she died but firefighter/paramedic Henrietta "Hen" Wilson was doing everything she could to save the lady's life. And I think what she did helped but by some miracle she was brought back to life after a touching moment between the Sonia, Roger and their child.
I really need to rewatch 9-1-1, the show has some really good moments.
This is pretty cool. Oh, yes, Eddie please do tell us what your type is. Because I have a guess and it's the person you're walking next to. It's so going to be worth it when Eddie finally gets his coming out story. I can't wait for it to happen. I know Buck will be just as supportive as Eddie was when Buck came out to him as being Bisexual.
I'm still thinking about my post from yesterday about Eddie looking for the same "magical" experience he had when he met his late wife Shannon. And without realizing it, he also had a magical experience when he met Buck in the 9-1-1 episode Under Pressure (season 2 episode 1). Despite a bit of animosity (from Buck's side), they had instant chemistry.
I will continue to find it interesting how fast Buck and Eddie went from enemies (well one-sided enemies) to friends (and non-canon lovers). Especially since Buck's jealousy was on full display and he was being a jerk towards Eddie instead of welcoming him to the team. However, Eddie didn't seem to let Buck's bad attitude get to him but he did sort of mini confront him in the gym.
I just find it so fascinating that all it took for them to resolve their issues and become friends was to remove a bomb from an older man's leg. And not to mention exchange a few compliments and kind words. Which is why, when I found this amazingly funny fan edit I had to post it. The video not only highlights all the key moments between Buck and Eddie in the episode Under Pressure but does it in a funny way.
I was looking over this amazing gif set by Alice and it's clear that Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz doesn't realize that when him and Evan "Buck" Buckley met it was magical. It was instant chemistry. When I look back on both the sixth and seventh seasons of 9-1-1, Eddie was trying to find or recapture what he thought he had with his late wife Shannon with Marisol and Shannon's look-a-like Kim. However, he was completely romanticizing what him and Shannon used to have and ignoring all the ways their relationship didn't work.
I really wish he would see that whatever he thought he had with Shannon is exactly what he has with Buck. They have the magic, chemistry, connection and bond that he tried finding in his doomed relationships with his ex-girlfriends Dr. Ana Flores and Marisol and former whatever he had with Kim. I hope the Showrunner and writers will finally let Eddie see what's been right in front of him for so long. And let him find the love he's been looking for with Buck. Because when Eddie met Buck it was simply magical.
Maddie:No, no, no. It has to fit. I measured it twice. Can't you guys just, you know, turn it around the other way?
Buck:And then the pizza will slide off.
Maddie:You have pizza on my new sofa?
Buck:It's on the plastic.

I can't believe Eddie and Buck had such terrible ideas for getting Maddie's new couch in her apartment. All so they didn't have to move the pizza that was on the couch. At this point, Buck and Eddie had only known each other for a short amount of time yet they were so perfectly in sync and supportive. It's just they were surpportive of each other's bad ideas.
From a story point of view, I understand why Buck went with Eddie to the hospital in this episode Stuck (season 2 episode 4). It's to move the story along. But from a viewer point of view it made absolutely no sense for him to have actually gone with Eddie. Because Eddie could have gone to the hospital by himself to check on his Abuela Isabel. It's the same as when Buck drove Eddie to pick up Eddie's son Christopher from school near the end of the episode Help is Not Coming (season 2 episode 3). I always found it interesting that the writers made a point of incorporating Buck early on within the Diaz family. Looking back you can see how clearly they were creating the Buckley Diaz family.
I just love that as soon as Eddie told Buck about Christopher near the beginning of the episode 7.1 (season 2 episode 2) when the firefighters were on their way to a really bad emergency. I feel like Buck had a light-bulb moment. Because once they arrived at the damaged hotel to rescue earthquake survivors, he was trying to reassure Eddie that Christopher's school would be one of the safest places to be during an earthquake. He also had another light-bulb moment in this episode Stuck because after listening to Eddie and Tia Josephina "Pepa", the wheels were already forming in his head to try to figure out how help Eddie. And he did, two times in this episode. First, was to let their Captain Robert "Bobby" Nash know that Eddie was bringing Chris to work. And second was by introducing Eddie to Carla Price, a health care worker who knew how to deal with all the red tape issues that Eddie was having in trying to get Christopher the additional care he needed. If I can find it, I'll post that video another time as well.
Although, I wrote about Buck showing support to Eddie in another post, I just continue to find it interesting that he was doing so much to help his new co-worker. I've seen where a lot of fans have said that during this time, Buck had a big crush on Eddie (which I agree with) and he wanted to do whatever he could to help his crush. I can totally understand this fan explanation, it really does add another layer to this storyline. I really love Buck and Eddie and the Buckley Diaz family, which is why I am hoping they will eventually go canon. And make this little family officially a family.
