Which is why I'm glad Eddie did go to the chess tournament because he found out the truth. Although Eddie believed his son was doing really well with his grandparents, he found out how stressed Chris was over playing chess and that he didn't like playing it. But what makes the situation so sad is that Chris went along with playing chess despite not enjoy playing it. All so he wouldn't disappoint his grandparents. They made him feel like he couldn't go to them and tell them he didn't like chess. I'm so happy that Eddie went because he would have continued to believe that his son was doing better without him which is so not the truth.
Now that Eddie and Chris have reconciled and Chris will be moving back in with Eddie, I hope this El Paso storyline will finally start to be wrapped up. I can't believe the Showrunner and writers thought it was a good idea to isolate Eddie by keeping him in Texas which resulted in him not being there for the big contagion emergency. Especially since Eddie is a former military medic who is familiar contagions. I don't know, the show and the 118 feels so off when any of the member of the team is not there and most especially during a big emergency like this. Anyway, I'm happy Eddie and Chris have made up and hopefully will be figuring out a way to move back to Los Angeles.
