Eddie: Thanks for helping me finish packing. Chris is gonna be psyched you found his favorite shirt. He's been looking for it ever since he got to El Paso.

Buck: Well, you make sure he knows I'm the one who found it.

Eddie: Right. Credit where credit's due. Thanks for helping me get back to him.

Buck: Uh, yeah, of course. Don't sweat it.

Eddie: I know this whole thing between us has been messy and hard, and both of us could have handled it a little bit better. But I hope you know, you do matter to me.

Buck: I know.

It's always interesting how the writers for 9-1-1 choose to write the dialogue for Buck and Eddie because this scene conveys so much more than friendship. For these two, there is always this underlying sense of romance but they are not ready to deal with that just yet. So instead they just share meaningful looks and smiles. I hope one day the writers will actually let them explore their feelings and realize that they are more than just friendship.
