Buck and Eddie Fandom Thoughts #6: Why are they always staring at each other?

What are these looks that Eddie and Buck are giving each other in this scene from the 9-1-1 episode Masks (season 8 episode 5)? These are some pretty interesting and intense looks between them. I always wonder why they are always staring at each other? Why do they are always look at each other as if they are the only ones in the room. When at most times, they are not.

Even in the scene below in Masks, they were not the only two in the hospital room. Buck's then boyfriend was also in the room with them. However, they are just so captivated with each other. Buck looking over at Eddie for reassurance and understanding while Eddie is staring at him as if Buck is the most fascinating person in the world. Even if Eddie did end up laughing at him after this look but it was with love.

I continue to find Buck and Eddie staring or looking at each other to be interesting. Because they look at each other like lovers do. And if they are just friends then why so many intense and longing looks? Hen and Chimney are also best friends but they never look at each other in that way. However, they do look at their significant other's (Karen and Maddie) that way. It just makes you wonder why Eddie and Buck are always staring at each other.
