I was having some Buck and Eddie (or Buddie) Fandom Thoughts and wanted to share them:
- I can't wait for the day (or episode) that Evan "Buck" Buckley and Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz finally get the chance to be together. I find it so interesting that they have built this amazing life and connection together despite not having a lot of interests in common, however they just fit so well together. They are very opposites attract. I love that they always fight to keep their relationship going.
- I noticed that with Buck's previous and current romantic relationships, none of them seem to like or love him for he is. However, with Eddie, he loves everything about Buck. He's never dismissive or condescending when he's talking to Buck. And with Eddie's previous relationships, he was trying too hard to force a connection as well as forcing the person he's with into his life. Yet with Buck, after the initial hiccup of him being jealous, it was seamless the way he connected with Eddie and became a part of his life. They are truly perfect for each other.
- I really can't stand this notion that anyone who has mental health issues (i.e. Buck and Eddie) isn't worthy of love until they fix their lives. Buck and Eddie are constantly dealing with issues including mental health related ones. However, that shouldn't stop them from getting the chance to be together. Love is definitely not a cure-all but it's shouldn't be treated as something that is rewarded once someone's life is "perfect".
In the end, I feel like the Showrunner and writers have created the ultimate slow burn love story between Buck and Eddie. And I just hope that one day we will get the chance to see them go canon.
