Should Eddie Diaz become a Paramedic?

Every time Firefighter Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz is shown doing Paramedic duties on emergency calls on 9-1-1, I always wonder if at some point he every got certified for that. Yeah, I know he was a Medic when he was in the Army but doesn't he still need to be certified as a Paramedic? Unless, his certification happened off screen like so many other plot points and scenes tend to do on this show.

But, I don't think so, because he's never referred to as a Paramedic. Although, he is very qualified to do the job, he's still not certified. As for his qualification, he's worked countless times on medical emergency working alone or paired with experienced Paramedic/Firefighters Howard "Chimney" Han and Henrietta "Hen" Wilson. Eddie even took over as Paramedic partner to Hen when Chimney had to take an unexpected leave from work during the first half of the fifth season.

Hen and Chimney have years of knowledge, skills and experience and Eddie may not have as many years of experience of them but his knowledge and skills are definitely good enough to work alongside these extremely skilled Paramedics. I really think at some point Captain Robert "Bobby" Nash (once he gets his job back), should encourage Eddie to get certified. Then he would have three Paramedic/Firefighters on his team. Because at this point, Eddie's a Paramedic all but in name.
