What I always found interesting is that when Buck showed up, the first thing he said was "Please don't ask me how I am." Because he had been getting asked that question all day from his many visitors. And what I like is that Eddie did exactly what Buck wanted and not asked. Eddie understood what Buck needed was in that moment a safe and relaxing space. And as for relaxing, it was definitely what Buck needed since he promptly fell asleep as soon as he sat down on Eddie's couch.
Later in the episode, you can tell Buck had been asleep for some time. Which means Eddie went about his evening and didn't bother Buck while he slept. And by the time Buck woke up, he joined Eddie who was in the kitchen preparing lunch for his son Christopher to take to school for the next day. They had an interesting talk that let Buck finally say that he wasn't okay after Eddie asked how he was doing. Up until that point, Buck wasn't being honest when had been asked by various people (which included his sister Maddie and good friend and co-worker Henrietta "Hen" Wilson) but he was with Eddie.
I remember after this episode aired, the couch theory went into overdrive. Because back in the sixth season premiere episode Let the Games Begin, Buck said to Eddie "Maybe I don't want to pick the wrong couch again." And Buck falling asleep on Eddie's couch in Recovery really spoke volumes for sure. To this day, fans equate Eddie's couch as the right couch that Buck is looking for, he just doesn't realize it yet.
